Clear governance, bounded ethics, and accountable program design.
Luma Direct is built to be trustworthy by design. Our governance model prioritizes safety, transparency, nonprofit accountability, and a clear boundary between education and medical care.

Ethics Principles
Safety Over Scale
We prioritize participant safety and quality outcomes over rapid growth or market expansion.
Education Over Advice
We provide educational information and explanations, never medical advice or recommendations.
Trust Over Engagement
We build trust through transparency and clarity, not through engagement metrics or retention tricks.
Nonprofit Structure

AI & Technology Ethics
Responsible AI Use
If we turn on AI tools, we'll use them only within set educational steps, never in place of human judgment or clinical care.
Any AI feature will show clear notices, and you can always reach a person at support@lumadirect.org.
Data Privacy
Luma Direct isn't a healthcare provider or a HIPAA covered entity. We collect basic family details you choose to share, like a diagnosis date, an age range, and care-team contacts, to guide you through the program. We don't ask for medical records, lab results, glucose readings, or insulin doses, and our tools are built to remove them if they're typed in.
Our AI tools are off today. If we turn them on, we won't store the raw text of conversations.
Transparency
If we turn on AI tools, we'll tell you when you're using them and what they can't do.
